Technology Acquisition

Technology supports the work we do every day at UTA. Whether you’re teaching, researching, or supporting campus operations, the Office of Information Technology is here to help you choose technology that is accessible, secure and ready to use.

To ensure alignment with federal, state, system and university policies, all technology must be approved for use on UTA-owned devices and the UTA network. OIT created a list of pre-approved technology, both hardware and software, which can be found on this page. You will also find information necessary to gain access and utilize the technology.

Whenever possible, consider using these pre-approved technologies to ensure user accessibility, data security and compatibility with UTA systems.

If you cannot find what you are looking for on the pre-approved list, a Technology Acquisition Review will be required before the technology can be procured, installed and used. Upon submission, OIT EIR Accessibility, OIT Enterprise Architecture, and, when necessary, the Information Security Office will review the request to determine if the technology requested meets all the requirements to be used at UTA.

Please note: Some technologies are not approved for use at UTA. These are listed for reference to help you avoid submitting requests that will not be approved.
